The Herricks District Council of PTAs is the organization that encompasses all of the members of the PTA units in our district.  Executive Officers of PTA Council are elected to their positions, as are all Presidents and officers of the individual units.  At PTA Council Executive Board meetings, each school’s Presidents represent the PTA members of their units.  PTA Council Executive meetings are held monthly.  Unit Presidents, PTA Council’s officers and chair people share information, bring up problems and discuss any issues that their members and/or units might have.
 

All paid PTA members, from any unit in the Herricks School District, are welcome to attend District Council General meetings, which are listed in the District calendar and on this website.  The sessions are dedicated to open communication.  Council delegates, unit Presidents and Principals, the Superintendent, central administration members, HTA members, and the Board of Education representatives attend these meetings to share ideas and concerns.  Our goals and direction are discussed at these meetings and our success is based on the dedication of all of the members.  Committees are formed as needed - such as short term and ad-hoc.  Other committees are long-standing such as Traffic, Bus, Nutrition, Summer Rec, and Budget/Voter Awareness Committees.
 

The PTA Council is committed to promoting the welfare of children and to obtaining the best possible public education within existing financial resources.  Please help support the objectives of the Herricks District Council of PTAs by becoming involved in the work of your individual unit, its various committees or any of the PTA Council committees and by sharing your ideas with us.
