The Herricks UFSD Music and Performing Arts Department is nationally recognized for excellence in music education. The Herricks Community values the importance of a strong musical experience for all students.

Herricks offers a wide variety of educational experiences for its students on all levels.  Within the district's numerous bands, orchestras and  choirs, the majority of the eligible students are enrolled in musical performance and most students continue their musical growth throughout High School.

In addition to performing groups, the High School curriculum offers classes in Music Theory, AP Music Theory, Guitar and Theatre.

The extra curricular musicals and dramas, jazz bands, chamber orchestras, wind ensembles and Jazz Choir, Mens and Women's Choir offer other exciting avenues for students to develop their musical interests and talents. The High School and Middle School have national recognized chapters of the Tri-M Music Honor Society where they were each named Chapter of the Year for 2018 for their  service to both the school and community at large.
